Carlicia Chang
Carlicia is a Dietitian who blends clinical expertise with a deep commitment to prevention, health equity, and person centred care. With experience in working with bariatric surgery and upper GI disorders, malnutrition, type 2 diabetes. She supports clients to understand their mind-body, build confidence with food choices, and make meaningful changes that feel achievable and empowering to everyday life.
Currently completing her Master of Public Health at the University of Newcastle, Carlicia brings a holistic lens to evidence-based nutritional care — recognising the role of lifestyle, environment, culture, and lived experiences in shaping health. She is passionate about translating evidence into practical strategies, and she works collaboratively with clients to create personalised plans that align with their goals, values, and routines.
Carlicia’s tools leverage her cross-cultural experience, having grown up in Hong Kong with Traditional Chinese Medicine observation whilst engaging with the latest evidence-based nutritional knowledge — strengthening her ability to navigate complex health needs with nuance, communicate clearly, and advocate for coordinated, compassionate care.
At Pause Allied Health, Carlicia offers dietetic services to clients through Medicare and DVA. She a supportive space for clients to slow down, explore their relationship with food, and build sustainable habits that enhance wellbeing. She is particularly interested in chronic disease management, weight neutral approaches, and helping people reconnect with food in a way that feels nourishing rather than overwhelming.
Outside of work, she enjoys listening to music and podcasts, trying difference ice cream flavours while seeing the world, piecing together 1000-piece puzzles, and tending to her ever growing collection of plants.
