I’m Barb Stace. It is indeed a great honour and privilege to be associated with Pause Allied Health as their Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner, providing mentoring, clinical supervision and reflective practice to their behaviour support practitioners and psychology staff.
My first experience of being a clinician was as a Speech Pathologist. (I am a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia.)
After working across all facets of this profession, an opportunity came my way to move into behaviour support. With all behaviour being communication, who better to try their hand at this discipline than a Speech Pathologist? This role brought new enthusiasm and enquiry to my work. I quickly moved into a senior regional role and when NDIS benchmarked this clinical work via competency levels, I submitted my work at specialist level and was endorsed at this highest level.
I am passionate about passing on my skills to my colleagues at Pause so that our clients enjoy their best life possible while their carers feel safe and valued in what they do.
