Behaviour Support Practitioner

David is an emerging social work professional with a strong academic foundation in psychology, philosophy, and counselling. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology and Philosophy, a Diploma of Counselling, and is currently completing a Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying).
David’s professional background includes working as an Out‑of‑Home Care (OOHC) caseworker and as a drug and alcohol counsellor within NSW government services.
He is committed to supporting individuals throughout their mental health recovery journeys through evidence‑based, person‑centred practices tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. David also has a strong interest in positive behaviour support and aligns his practice with the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework when working with individuals experiencing behavioural challenges.
David’s therapeutic approach is trauma‑informed and grounded in the belief that each person is the expert in their own life. He prioritises listening, empathy, respect, and collaboration to build strong therapeutic alliances and support meaningful, sustainable positive mental health outcomes.
