Margaret Noonan
Margaret, or Mags as she is affectionally known, brings over 35 years of experience in people care to her role as People and Culture Manager at Pause Allied Health — a career that began in the rolling countryside of County Sligo, Ireland, where she trained as a Registered Disability Nurse, and has since taken her across the world and through the full spectrum of human services.
Since emigrating to Australia 32 years ago, Mags has built a remarkable career grounded in one enduring belief: that people, whether patients, employees or colleagues, deserve to be seen, supported and given every opportunity to thrive. That philosophy has shaped everything she does — and it is what drew her to Pause Allied Health, an organisation whose values she doesn't just respect, but genuinely lives.
For Mags, working at Pause is more than a role — it is a mission. A mission of collaboration and continuous improvement; in the systems that support staff, in the culture that holds the organisation together, and in the everyday experience of each person who walks through the door. She leads with the compassion and responsiveness that sit at the very heart of what Pause Allied Health stands for.
Before joining Pause, she spent 15 years working in Local Government as Coordinator of Employee Health and Wellbeing, where she led a dedicated team and oversaw workplace health & safety, injury management and wellbeing programs for a workforce of over 600 people. Prior to that, she worked for 10years with NSW Department of Community Services (Disability sector), and as an Injury Management Advisor with CGU Workers Compensation — roles that gave her a deep, practical understanding of what people need when they are at their most vulnerable.
Mags holds a Bachelor of Education (Habilitation) from Australian Catholic University, along with qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety, Training and Assessment, Frontline Management and Leadership. She is also a qualified Mental Health First Aid Officer.
At Pause Allied Health, Mags oversees the full people and culture function — from recruitment and employee relations through to policy, compliance, learning and development, and organisational culture. She is known for her warmth, her steadfast commitment to doing things properly, and her genuine care for the people she works alongside every day. In everything she does, she strives to model the values that make Pause Allied Health a place where both staff and clients can feel truly supported.
